Kick-Ass 2 Already?
July 4th, 2009 • By admin • Uncategorized
“Kick-Ass” is still in its post-production phase, but sequel talks have been brought up into attention. During a recent chat with Sci Fi Wire discussing about his hands-on approach as “Kick-Ass” producer, creator Mark Millar has spilled the bean that “Kick-Ass 2″ is being planned and is already in the works.
“Kick-Ass 2 is already being plotted out,” the 36-year-old opened up when addressing how “Wanted (2008)” paved the way of his other comic series being materialized as big screen projects. He further pointed out on the likelihood of the sequel being made within the next two years, explaining, “We’re planning it, because all the actors are quite young and we have to make it relatively quickly. So we’ll definitely do that inside the next 18 to 24 months.”
Adapted from a comic book series by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., the movie “Kick-Ass” itself is directed by “Stardust” helmer Matthew Vaughn. It tells the story of Dave Lizewski, an ordinary teenage boy who decides to be a real life hero donning a superhero suit in his action. Starring Aaron Johnson as the titular character, this action fantasy film is supported by the likes of Nicolas Cage, Chloe Moretz, Lyndsy Fonseca and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Magazine Interview
June 6th, 2009 • By admin • Interviews
Imagine going to work and being called a sex god by your co-workers, who also happen to be super-humanly beautiful. Now, while you’re at it, dream about being only 18 years old and having already earned enough money to buy a bachelor pad in the trendy part of East London. Sound like never-never land? Well, British actor Aaron Johnson calls it reality.
Fresh from his successful turn as Robbie (a.k.a. the school sex god) in Gurinder Chadha’s 2008 comedy Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, Johnson will next be seen playing the ill-fated boyfriend of hot commodity Carey Mulligan in the upcoming drama The Greatest. The film revolves around a family coping with the loss of a son. “I play the son,” Johnson explains. “He dies, so I’m in it for about 30 seconds.”
Surprisingly, for someone who lives the dream and makes huge impressions even with limited screen time, Johnson is physically small and admirably self-deprecating. “Angus was good fun,” he says, “although I had to spend many hours in makeup to look like a handsome school kid.” His career started very early and included playing Edward Norton’s character as a boy in the 2006 magician thriller The Illusionist. The mention of this formative role leads the actor to waxing lyrical about Norton’s film Fight Club (1999), which leads into his fascination with Brad Pitt, and then to his desire to one day work with Quentin Tarantino. Perhaps this leaning toward tougher cinematic characters is an indication of Johnson’s upcoming projects. After all, he’s going to need to rely on a touch of toughness to play the title role in director Matthew Vaughn’s adaptation of the comic book Kick-Ass, about a wannabe superhero. But, still, most dreamy is his upcomingturn as a young John Lennon in Sam Taylor-Wood’s Nowhere Boy. Johnson was born almost a decade after Lennon’s murder, but he has become a bona fide fan. “I’m learning guitar and doing a lot of preparation,” he says. “It’s about his relationship with his aunt and mother before he was famous, which really informs what John Lennon became.” It’s a fitting character for a kid living an almost imaginary life.

Aaron’s Girlfriend & Chatroom
Director Sam Taylor-wood is reportedly dating the teenage actor she cast to star in a new movie about John Lennon’s childhood.
Taylor-Wood, 42, stepped out with 19-year-old Aaron Johnson on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in France on Sunday night to promote forthcoming film Nowhere Boy, which chronicles the late Beatle’s formative years.
And London’s Evening Standard reports they are a couple, and have been dating for months.
A source tells the publication, “From the start Aaron was dead set on her… Sam resisted it for a long time.”
Taylor-Wood split from her art dealer husband Jay Jopling last year.
Here’s a little bit about Aaron’s new upcoming project Chatroom.
The full cast for Chatroom, Hideo Nakata’s (The Ring, Dark Water) first foray into mainstream English language horror movie making has been announced. The list of bright young things destined to end their days on screen, in suitable grizzly and unpleasant ways, includes; Aaron Johnson, Imogen Poots, Matthew Beard, Hannah Murray and Daniel Kaluuya. Distributor Pathé films have also just confirmed they have picked up the film in the U.K, so we should be able to expect a reasonably wide release. Chatroom, begins shooting next month.
Synopsis: When jaded teens Jim, Eva, Emily and Mo meet William online, they’re seduced by his charisma. But William isn’t what he seems. He’s calculating and manipulative and doesn’t have time for people in the real world. Jim is vulnerable and he has no idea how dangerous his new friendship with William will be. When Jim confesses he’s on anti-depressants, William knows he’s found a victim. He vows to help Jim off his drugs, and the rest of the group fall in line. What begins as friendly advice to help Jim becomes twisted and Eva and Mo realise the deadly game William’s playing, but the wheels are in motion. Jim is set on a path of self- destruction, and is going to do the unthinkable. As Eva, Emily and Mo try to save Jim, William begins a terrifying game of cat and mouse chasing them across the internet, shutting down their systems, and cutting them off from his victim. Fantasy meets reality when William and Jim are face to face in rush hour on the underground. Without the faceless security of the online world, everything becomes real. It’s now a race against time to save Jim, but the clock is ticking… and we fear someone must die.

Sam Taylor-Wood & Aaron Johnson together?
May 16th, 2009 • By admin • rumours
Apparently the Director of Nowhere Boy, Sam Taylor-Wood, was caught ’snogging’ with Aaron at the PlayStation 3 Blu-Ray party.
At the bash following the premiere of The Unloved, Sam openly kissed 19-year-old Aaron Johnson, who plays John Lennon in her biopic, Nowhere Man.
Our spy says: “They were all over each other. Lily was right next to them but Sam didn’t care.
“She and Aaron looked very sweet together. Sam has so moved on. She was lapping up her new man.” Obviously!

Fake Twitter Account!
May 13th, 2009 • By admin • Uncategorized
I’m sorry to inform you guys but the twitter account @aaronkickass is a FAKE! Someone is posing as Aaron. As of right now anyone claiming to be Aaron Johnson on twitter is fake, he does not have an account.
Edit: It has been confirmed By Christopher Mintz-Plasse Twitter Account. I also messaged the writer of Kick-Ass on twitter yesterday, Jane Goldman, she has told me that and I quote.
“ferretprincess@monique2302 Yep, fraid so. Talked to him about it on Monday. He’s trying to figure how to get it removed (he doesn’t have his own account)”

New Movie Project for Aaron.
According to the Daily Mail Aaron will be playing a character in the upcoming movie Chatroom. It also stars Hannah Murray who play’s Cassie in Skins, and Imogen Poots who was in 28 Days Later. Filming starts sometime this summer, Aaron’s Character is still unknown. I’ll keep you guys updated If I see anything else.
Anyway, the cast he has assembled for Chatroom is anything but depressing. In fact, there are some exciting, fast-rising names on his list.
The actors who have been signed up include Aaron Johnson, who is working with Sam Taylor Wood on Nowhere Boy and on Matthew Vaughn’s Kick Ass; and Matthew Beard, the clever, understated actor who was in When Did You Last See Your Father? and who gives a small, gem of a performance in An Education.
I’m looking forward to seeing how Hannah Murray moves from the small screen, where she played the delicate Cassie in Skins, to a larger playground in Chatroom. Likewise for fellow Skins alumni Daniel Kaluuya.

Lennon Biopic Nowhere Boy starts production
May 4th, 2009 • By admin • Uncategorized
A new article came out last month on how Aaron prepared for his Role as John Lennon in his upcoming movie Nowhere Boy.
Aaron said: “I have been reading all I can about John. I owe it to the role to be well versed in all the things about him.
“Obviously I started by listening to his music which is very autobiographical and I could glean stuff about his personality.
“There is also lots of footage around from the time which I have studied, including his body language, his facial expressions and his mannerisms.
“I have also been listening to the same music which inspired him all those years ago.
“Stuff like Otis Redding, Buddy Holly, Fats Domino and American Rock and Roll.
“It’s hard to say how much there is of me in the character of John.
